Membership in the BAA is open to anyone interested in actively supporting the arts in Somerville and the Boston community at large. The Brickbottom Artists Association promotes its members and their work, while providing them with a means to contribute to the community.
The BAA also works to make the life of the local artists a little easier and a lot more fun. Here's how:
- The Brickbottom Gallery, presenting professional exhibitions by established and emerging artists, free to the public
- Free evening Salon events, video screenings, literary readings, lectures, slide presentations, music, etc.
- The Annual Brickbottom open studios
- The daily paper in the Wi-Fi lobby
- A Website with community notices, images of artists, schedules and calendars and a quarterly newsletter
- Discounts from local merchants and art supply stores
- Independent health insurance
Benefits of membership:
- Resident and Affiliate Artists may participate in 3 membership exhibitions as well as BAA sponsored events throughout the city.
- Open Studios: If space is available, affiliate artists may participate in the Brickbottom Open Studios, which is open to all Resident Artists.
- Artist listing on the Website including an image of work, and links to your e-mail and/or to your website.
- A 10% discount for art purchased in the gallery.
- The chance to support the arts and artists of your community.
